A wonderful marriage of smoked oak, fruity raisins and dark chocolate made in the popular style of an old fashioned with raisin infused Woodford reserve and raisin bitters.
Ingredients:
40mls Raisin infused Woodford Reserve Brandy*
20mls Cacao chocolate liqueur & **Demerara sugar syrup**
2 dashes raisin bitters*
Garnish: Chocolate raisins & Orange zest
*to infuse bitters and brandy add raisins to Woodford Reserve / Angostura Bitters and let stand for 4 days*
**sugar syrup = 1 part hot water to 1 part sugar (Demerara sugar works best for this recipe)
Directions
Glass: Whiskey glass
- Fill glass with ice.
- Pour all ingredients in the glass.
- Stir with a spoon for 15 – 20 secs. ( the longer you stir the more diluted it will be )
- Zest with orange and drop the orange peel in the glass.
- Top with chocolate-covered raisins.
